DrillSkill Training works closely with its member clients to provide learning and assessment services that produce the desired outcomes; capable and competenet off-siders, drillers and supervisors.
Our model is an Employer-based learning and assessment pathway utilised both for longitudinal learning (traineeships) and skills recognition (RPL).
At the heart of this model is the DrillSkill Training Record Book (TRB) containing learning content, field-based tasks and on-going collection of evidence around all learning and assessment events. The TRBs have been developed to promote a holistic, task-based approach to learning and assessment, which focuses on relating assessment activities to actual job tasks and is particularly relevant given the nature of the industry is for the learner to learn 'on-th-job.'
The intention of this model is to streamline and simplify both learning and recogntion processes for all working in the drilling industry. The focus is on demonstrated skills and knowledge and is not over reliant on document collection as the main source of evidence.
Through the implementation of the TRB strategy, the focus for DrillSkill Training is to ensure that any individual holding a DrillSkill Certificate, supported back-end by the TRB is competent and capable of doing the job required. The TRB provides the evidence of performance and the rigour of process the industry demands of its people to ensure safety and quality of sample or quality of drill hole is achieved in any given operation.
